Contact Kathleen Holland @ 519-471-2177
AWOL events are women-only events.
Saturday July 6th @ 4 PM – AWOL Sun Fest Outing – If you love music, meet at the Band Shell in Victoria Park. From there we can plan out our stages (where musicians perform all over the park) and have some dinner and time to stroll around and see the many many exhibitors. Bring your money to enjoy the wide selection of food and artisan vendors and BYOChair or blanket. No chairs are provided for this event. Please RSVP to Kathleen @ firstname.lastname@example.org by July 4th so we know how to plan our time.
Sunday July 28th @ noon – AWOL in London Pride Parade – We always enjoy walking in the Pride Parade with our AWOL “float”…our car with AWOL signs hanging from it! If you’d like to walk with us this year, please send your RSVP to Kathleen @ email@example.com by July 26th. More details will be provided closer to the date.
Saturday September 7th @ 6 PM – AWOL Bonfire and Chili Cookout – Ready for round 2?? Come on out or back (if you joined us in June). This is one of our most popular events where we feast, converse and experience the great outdoors together as signs of autumn are in the air. Since this will be weather-dependent and will NOT take place if it’s rainy, please RSVP to Kathleen firstname.lastname@example.org by September 5th if you’d like to attend. We will provide meat chili, beef wieners and marshmallows. Please bring food to share (salad, food tray or cold casserole are ideal) BYOB, chairs, and other type of food (if preferred) to put on a skewer…there’s no grill over our fire pit. So excited to welcome you all again!
Friday September 13th @ 6 PM – 8 PM – AWOL Hike – Feeling lucky?? Come out on Friday the 13th to Medway Valley (http://www.ontariotrails.on.ca/trails/view/medway-forest) in northwest London. Meet in the Tim Horton’s parking at Sherwood Forest Mall (Wonderland/Gainsborough Roads) and we’ll walk to the trail from there. This trail includes hilly sections so please come prepared with good footwear and walking poles would be a great asset. Unless lightning and thundering, this event will take place. Evening hikes are most interesting as this is the time of day when diurnal (active by day) creatures are still out and nocturnal ones start to stir! Feel free to bring your binoculars, camera and a water bottle for this interpretive hike along the trail. Please RSVP to Kathleen at email@example.com by Wednesday September 11th if you’d like to join us. Any changes/updates to our plans will be sent to those who RSVP.
