AWOL events are women-only events.
Saturday September 9th @ 6 PM – 11 PM – AWOL Wiener/Chili Bonfire – Before the nights are too cool, warm up around our fire with wieners and chili. We’ll provide chili and marshmallows and of course, the ambianceJ You’re welcome to bring whatever kind of wiener (turkey, beef, tofu, etc.) you would like to roast for yourself, BYOB and BYOC(chair). If it’s a rainy evening, the event will be held inside, minus the wiener roast. Please RSVP to email@example.com by Friday the 8th.
Sunday September 17th @ 10 AM – AWOL Cycling and Picnic – Meet in Springbank Park in the parking lot on the west side of Wonderland Road north of Springbank Drive. We’ll peddle along the bicycle trails through Springbank Park and beyond for 90 minutes or so, then we’ll find a place along the way for a lunch break. Please pack lunch/snacks/drinks for yourself. We’ll cancel the ride if it’s raining…so please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by Sept. 16th and an email will be sent to those who’ve sent RSVPs to confirm the event Sunday morning by 9 AM. Sunday October 15th @ 10 AM – AWOL Apple-picking – Meet in the Tim Horton’s parking lot at Wonderland Rd S and Southdale (NW corner). Some may opt to carpool and for the rest, we’ll drive caravan-style down to Great Lakes Farms in Union (near Port Stanley) (http://www.greatlakesfarms.ca/2017-apple-info.html) where we can pick our own apples or buy them already picked. Then we’ll head to Port Stanley to buy lunch. For those with a tight timeline, it’d be best to drive yourself. For others who wish to meander home, there’s no set time for your adventure to wrap up! Friday November 24th @ 7 PM – Evening of the Red Scarf Event – in honour and support of World AIDS Day. Venue is London Music Club. The event features Canadian band, The Trews. For details about the event and to hear a song, visit https://www.redscarf.ca/.Tickets are $40 and to buy them through me, there’s no service charge. Online price is $48. Please RSVP by November 10th firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to join us and we’ll order your ticket. Arrangement for payment will take place closer to the event date.
